Our Blackberries
The dark fruit
Few fruits are as eye catching for their color as blackberries. The truth is that they start as little red fruits, but turn black as they ripen, with a distinctive sweet and aromatic flavor. In some countries they’re called “black raspberries” because of their similar shape. Like raspberries, each is composed of numerous globules or drupal nodes that unite around a fibrous nucleus but there’s a great difference in color and taste. The blackberry tends to be a bit tangier, but softer on the tongue.
